FUNCTION: 

Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Wellness, the Workplace Wellness Lead will be responsible forexecuting initiatives as outlined in the Alberta Blue Cross Corporate Wellness strategy while providingoverall support to the Manager, Corporate Wellness.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Liaise with existing customers through our group sales department and create new relationships withexternal stakeholders to promote workplace wellness and initiatives.

  • Assist the Manager by providing project status updates, project monitoring, budget reporting related to the implementation of various projects, initiatives and make recommendations for efficiencies.
  • Provide input/feedback to the Manager related to needs, areas of gap in project management functions, and ensure collaboration in corporate wide projects.
  • Develop new processes and procedures required for effective service delivery functions from the wellness team.
  • Develop a workplace wellness framework to include an organizational assessment, key principles to champion workplace culture and supports for certification locally, provincially or/and nationally.
  • Plan, develop and implement a training program to empower organizations to bring their wellness vision to life.
  • Competent to support knowledge transfer and content management to various stakeholders related to wellness initiatives and information critical for integration.
  • Collaborate with the wellness analyst to ensure appropriate program metrics are identified, tracked and evaluated on a regular basis.
  • Help develop and create a customer management database for tracking purposes and assuring exceptional customer engagement strategies.
  • Create and deliver presentations to a variety of stakeholders and Alberta Blue Cross clients on the benefits of wellness and the Alberta Blue Cross wellness solutions.
  • Support customers to help launch Balance, our online program for holistic health for both the employer and the employees.
  • Competent in reading reports, data, metrics and summarizing findings for our clients.
  • Work in partnership with our vendors to support Excellence Canada – Healthy Essentials Workplace milestones and ensure on-going engagement.
  • Work with Marketing, Group Sales and Customer Experience to facilitate communication, feedback and promotions of our customers/external stakeholders.
  • As the subject matter expert, you will be responsible to research wellness solutions following corporate product and project management methodologies and provide innovative solutions.
  • Support internally stakeholders with business processes such as risk management, budgeting, data analysis and business continuity.

SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE:

  • Preference will be given to those candidates that have a Master’s and/or university degree in a related health promotion and Public Health.
  • Strong understanding of wellness in the workplace and health promotion.
  • Three to five years’ experience in workplace wellness in addition to healthcare, public or community health is required.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with senior management and corporate stakeholders.
  • Proven analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, including the ability to recognize issues and identify alternative solutions.
  • Support development of strategic plans, long-term goals and forecast emerging trends in the industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal and engagement skills coupled with strong skills in verbal and written communication.
  • Experience in project management frameworks would be considered an asset.
  • Develop internal and external communication such as documents, presentations, charts and reports.
  • Understanding of OHS, National Psychological Health and Safety Standard and available workplace wellness resources.
  • Strong organizational skills, exceptional time management skills and ability to prioritize.
  • Creative thinker and willing to take calculated risks.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop timely, sensitive analyses in a complex and rapidly changing environment.
  • Exceptional skills with technology ie Excel, Visio, Microsoft office, Sharepoint and other related software.
  • Self-starter, decision maker, proactive and able to work independently.
  • Models and demonstrates commitment to health and well-being.
  • To gauge and self-regulate performance based on our areas of competencies to include: emotional intelligence and accountability.
  • Provincial travel may be required.
