Position Summary

FUNCTION

The Web Administration team within the Technical Services Department, at Alberta Blue Cross, has an immediate opening for a permanent Web Administrator. In this technical role, the successful candidates will report to the Team Manager of Web Administration. The Web Administration team manages a large scale enterprise middleware infrastructure environment consisting of the following technologies; Red Hat Linux ES 6.x, Open Source Apache, Oracle HTTP Server, Oracle WebLogic Server, Oracle Identity Management (OAM, OID), Oracle Classic Portal, Oracle Business Intelligence (Forms, Reports, Discoverer), Oracle WebCenter Content, Urban Code, eGain, HP Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), AppDynamics, and WebTrends Analytics. While we welcome candidates from all levels of experience, experience in one, or many, of the above technologies would be a definite asset, although not a requirement. We are looking for fun, dynamic, creative, independent individuals who enjoy exposure to a number of different web technologies and possess a natural will to learn and to grow with the team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Install, administer, and maintain a large enterprise web infrastructure running on Red Hat Linux operating systems.
  • Develop and support existing scripts (Linux shell, WLST, Python) to automate tasks.
  • Provide second level support for incident ticket resolution.
  • Participate in ongoing projects as a representative of the Web Administration team.
  • Create and maintain documentation and procedures used by the team.
  • Provide on call support.
  • Work with other technical teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
  • Secure the infrastructure components installed within the middleware technology stack.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Preference will be given to applicants who have attained a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences or a diploma in a related technical discipline.
  • Proficiency with Linux scripting, python, WLST is nice to have.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong planning, organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be customer oriented.
  • Must work well in a team oriented environment.
  • Must be self motivated.
  • Must have good time management skills.
  • Must be able to multitask.
