Position Summary


Alberta Blue Cross has an immediate opportunity for a Web Administration resource to provide support for Oracle mid tier and Identity. The successful candidate will report to the Team Manager of IT Web Administration.

The IT Web Administration team manages the organization’s SDLC environments comprised of large scale enterprise middleware infrastructure.  We are looking for a fun and creative individual who is an ambitious self-learner and enjoys working in a fast-paced atmosphere with a number of different technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to learn, grow, and contribute to our unique team environment.


  • Install, configure, administer, and maintain an enterprise web infrastructure running on various Red Hat Linux operating systems.
  • Secure the infrastructure components installed within the middleware technology stack.
  • Investigate and resolve Service Desk incidents and individual tasks in a timely manner.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues relating to the applications and infrastructure services supported by the team.
  • Work with other technical teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Develop and support existing scripts (Linux shell, WLST, Python).
  • Support projects by assisting with various project-related work.
  • Create and maintain procedures and other documentation used by the team.
  • Provide rotational 24x7 production support.


  • Bachelor’s degree or a diploma in a related technical discipline from a recognized technical institute.
  • Operational support experience, using Linux shell scripting language.
  • Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to change.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written communication and documentation.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to deal with complex issues with minimal guidance.
  • Effective time management and planning capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide issue resolution or service delivery under tight timelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to be accountable and responsible.
