Alberta Blue Cross has an immediate opening for an enthusiastic, team-oriented, results-driven plan administrator experience coordinator to join our administration team, reporting to the operations manager of Group Administration. The ideal candidate is a natural collaborator with a great attitude, work ethic and ability to see things from a customer’s perspective and experience; specifically the customer of the external plan administrator.  The successful candidate must have exemplary interpersonal skills, proven leadership capacity, strong problem-solving skills, effective research and analytical approaches, and a strong commitment to exceptional client services.


  • Ensure delivery of a consistently superior customer service experience and act as a communication conduit.
  • Champions and managers all initiatives that affect the plan administrator experience, via phone, web application, or paper.
  • Provides a direct connection from Group Administration to the internal Customer Experience team.
  • Map out plan administrator’s experiences and interactions within Group Administration and trouble shoot any immediate gaps in service areas.
  • Provide support to management and business units by facilitating, leading, and managing business driven initiatives to ensure customers receive exceptional client services within Group Administration.
  • Coordinates client experience resolution of Group Administration issues by involving Group Enrolment, Group Sales, Group Billing, Medical and Group Underwriting, Life and Disability Services, Benefit Services, IT and other departments relating to plan administrators.
  • Under the direction of the operations manager, works closely with project teams to identify and manage the impact of system changes to the external plan administrator.
  • Develop and present touch point models, project status reports, stats and other relevant information to stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
  • Builds and maintains effective working relationships with internal/external customers and coworkers.
  • Represents Group Administration in various corporate working groups and projects.
  • Available for external client presentations on the subject of plan administrator customer experience.


  • A post secondary degree, diploma or prior experience would be an asset.
  • Minimum of five years experience in a corporate customer-centric environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills coupled with strong skills in verbal and written communication
  • Detail-oriented, organized and resourceful.
  • Proven strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, prioritize and manage multiple tasks, projects and deadlines all without jeopardizing quality.
  • Self-motivated and flexible.
  • Attitude and approach of continuous improvement.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook).
  • Strong networking and relationship skills with demonstrated client management skills.
  • Previous insurance industry background and sales experience are assets.
