Position Summary


Learning & Development is a fast paced and dynamic environment with a focus on production, collaboration and teamwork. Under the direction of the Manager, Learning & Development, this position will support L&D analysts within dedicated portfolios to negotiate training strategies and priorities.


  • Identify training requirements based on work requests and needs assessments.
  • Negotiate on training prioritizing and scheduling
  • Track and report on training activities
  • Provide leadership and mentorship support to your team of learning analysts
  • Provide leadership and collaborative support to the entire L&D team
  • Apply instructional design models and adult learning theory for curriculum development
  • Support project and program launches across portfolios and divisions
  • Assess and provide opportunities for business process improvements   
  • Provide training to Alberta Blue Cross employees, ensuring required knowledge is developed and maintained
  • Evaluate the impact of training programs to ensure objectives are being met


  • Must have previous leadership experience and be results focused
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with above average proficiency in verbal and written communication
  • Previous experience negotiating training needs and scheduling complexities
  • Strong relationship builder is essential to this role
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Interested and engaged in developing new strategies and thinking outside the box to find ways to meet training needs
  • Experience tracking and reporting on training outcomes and objectives 
  • Experience in instructional design, adult learning, and presentation/instructing
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to schedule multiple projects and respond to dynamics of limited training space
  • Self-directed with a strong sense of accountability
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute within a team environment
  • Established track record built on exhibiting initiative, results orientation and a drive to succeed
  • Strong interest in pursuing leadership roles within the department, and willing to take training to continue to develop this skill set
