FUNCTION:

Under direction of the Director, the Manager is responsible for leading Team Managers and staff in the successful delivery and operations of IT systems.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accountable for one or more operational portfolios in IT.
  • Devise multi-year plans to support projects and operational initiatives.
  • Monitor contract and staff utilization along with budget variance.
  • Accountable for availability, operations and escalation resolution on mission critical systems.
  • Lead projects within and across systems in keeping with the corporate project management methodology.
  • Responsible for recruitment, growth and performance management of staff and Team Managers.
  • Create a positive working environment within the team.
  • Ensures successful delivery of quality solutions within budget that meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Provide application expertise to internal clients, external clients and team members.
  • Build and maintain effective client relationships by understanding business strategies and managing client expectations.
  • Communicate effectively with various levels of management and executive.

 SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Degree or Diploma in computer science or a related program
  • 5+ years of experience in leading Project Managers and/or Team Managers that oversee the work of staff and consultants.
  • Superior critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to deal with very stressful situations and conflicting priorities professionally.
  • Ability to manage large cross-functional projects and operational initiatives.
  • Demonstrated strength in planning, organizing and delegating. 
  • Proven strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills coupled with strong skills in verbal and written communication. 
  • Exceptional communication skills and demonstrated commitment to customer support are critical.
  • Experience managing Enterprise-level technology rollouts would be an asset.
