Position Summary

FUNCTION:

Under direction of the Director, the IT Controls Manager is responsible for ensuring that IT-related risks are balanced against business needs while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory and audit requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement and maintain a strategic framework for IT Controls, aligned with industry best practices
  • Prioritize IT Controls maturation initiatives based on risk and complexity, in consultation with Internal Audit and Enterprise Risk
  • Lead projects to improve the maturity of key processes and functions across all areas of IT
  • Develop, implement and maintain IT Controls processes and procedures
  • Improve existing Governance team structures, terms of reference, and operations
  • Serve as a liaison with Internal Audit for all IT Audits and coordinate IT management responses
  • Create a positive working environment within the team.
  • Provide controls and governance expertise to internal clients and team members.
  • Build and maintain effective internal client relationships by understanding business strategies and managing client expectations.
  • Communicate effectively with various levels of management and executive.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Degree or Diploma in computer science or a related program
  • Demonstrated experience with leveraging COBIT, COSO, and or ITIL in an operational environment
  • 5+ years of experience in leading Project Managers and/or Team Managers that oversee the work of staff and consultants.
  • Superior critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to deal with very stressful situations and conflicting priorities professionally.
  • Ability to manage large cross-functional projects and operational initiatives.
  • Demonstrated strength in planning, organizing and delegating. 
  • Proven strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills coupled with strong skills in verbal and written communication. 
  • Exceptional communication skills and demonstrated commitment to customer support are critical.
