Position Summary

FUNCTION:

The Major Accounts team serves Alberta Blue Cross’ 1000 + employer group customers.  Under the direction of the Manager, Major Accounts North, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the needs and expectations of our valued group customers are met and exceeded on a continual basis.  The customer experience we deliver to our plan sponsors and plan members is second to none and the expectation of the role of Major Account Coordinator is to embrace and act on the following:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build, strengthen and sustain relationships with large group customers and their advisors
  • Present and negotiate renewals ensuring that a balance is struck between the financial viability and the needs and expectations of our valued customers. Following up and ensure proper documentation and implementation of renewal action.
  • Assemble an annual review of the plan design changes, plan member activity and financial information on a three (3) year basis to be presented with the renewal. 
  • Assist and coordinate Request for Proposals (RFP) ensuring compliance to specifications, liaison with all parties, ensuring information provided is current and accurate.  
  • Lead enrollment and change activities of new and existing Major Accounts through a project management approach.
  • Ensure an effective, high level of scheduled service to customers in Edmonton and surrounding areas. 
  • Document results of out-of-office meetings to confirm discussion and acknowledgement of the follow up required.
  • Lead or assist with benefit presentations to existing and potential customers.
  • Communicate directly with our customers about new or expanding products, services or process changes within Alberta Blue Cross. 
  • Investigate escalated eligibility and claim inquiries ensuring prompt follow-up with plan sponsor.
  • Oversee eligibility data exchange processes between plan sponsors and ABC.
  • Monitor major accounts for opportunities for value added services and to add new lines of benefit.
  • Maintain Major Account contract and service files.
  • Attend group department conferences and sales related functions as required.
