Position Summary

FUNCTION:

Reporting to the Team Manager of DCM, the Intermediate Technical Analyst will provide support to the Infrastructure & Operations (I&O) department, internal employees and remote contractors. A high level of service quality is expected, which involves both relationship building and technical skills. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Dispatched by the Service Desk to resolve hardware and/or software desktop incidents.
  • Collaboration with other I&O staff on the resolution of more involved incidents.
  • Support devices including PC’s, monitors, printers, scanners, laptops, smart phones and other smart devices.
  • Preparation of desktop hardware for deployment and the installation and maintenance of software on desktops.
  • Setting up new users and installing software packages from SCCM.
  • Working with VDI’s and supporting our mobile and work from home users.
  • Troubleshooting complex software issues.
  • Creation of documentation for use by Service Desk and DCM analysts.
  • Provide after hours on call support, when scheduled.
  • Participation in projects as required.
  • Minimal travel may be required.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • A minimum of three year’s previous experience is required.
  • Completion of Information Technology degree or diploma or equvilenet education is required.
  • Must be customer oriented, responsive and patient to deal with customers of varying technical abilities.
  • Must have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work through problems to find solutions.
  • Must be able to work effectively under pressure.
  • Must be self-motivated.
  • Must be able to follow existing processes and procedures.
  • Must work well in a team-oriented environment.
  • Desire for continuous learning and new challenges.
  • Familiarity with Windows 7 and 10, MS Office and SCCM.
