Position Summary

FUNCTION:

Learning & Development is a fast paced and dynamic environment with a focus on production, collaboration and teamwork. Under the direction of a Team Manager of Learning & Development, this position works very closely with the team to liaison with departments to provide instructional design, curriculum development and delivery of training programs. This position is also responsible for ongoing maintenance of various resource manuals and support on special projects.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify department and individual training requirements based on department and company goals and target dates.
  • Apply instructional design models and adult learning theory for curriculum development. 
  • Develop training manuals and workshops. 
  • Provide training to Alberta Blue Cross employees, ensuring required knowledge is developed and maintained.
  • Evaluate the impact of training programs to ensure objectives are being met.
  • Update and maintaining all training and reference materials.
  • Facilitate new hire training and orientations.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Experience in instructional design, adult learning, and presentation/instructing.
  • Experience in developing classroom training.
  • Ideal candidate would have strong leadership skills and be results focused.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with above average proficiency in verbal and written communication.
  • Must have demonstrated strong technical skills in writing, editing and knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite products.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to complete multiple projects.
  • Self-directed with a strong sense of accountability.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute within a team environment.
  • Established track record built on exhibiting initiative, results orientation and a drive to succeed.

EDUCATION:

  • University degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of training experience including development and facilitation.
